What is a Best Whip Comp?
A “whip” is one of the most stylish moves on two-wheels. The maneuver consists of carving the lip of the jump and turning the bike as sideways as possible. The goal is getting fully sideways while still bringing it back straight for landing. It’s a tough skill to master and each rider will add their own personal style to their whip which makes the entire competition a treat to watch!

Entry – Pro/Expert Invitation-Only / Wristband Access Required

Rider Categories – Men Open | Women Open

Prize Purse – 1st: $500, 2nd: $300, 3rd: $100 – Equal Men’s & Women’s payouts

Format – Riders will have 45 minutes of the jam-style session, beginning at 5:30pm and can complete as many runs as possible until the clock runs out. Once the session concludes, judges will gather all riders together and announce the individuals that will advance to the Finals round of competition. Riders advancing to the Finals will receive a different color wristband to indicate advancement and access to the start line. Finals will run a jam-style format for another 30 minutes before final judging and winners are announced.

Judging – The judging panel criteria will be determined by amplitude, individual style, and the degree of the whip beyond the 90 degree (perpendicular to trajectory of the jump) and execution…including bringing the whip back!

Entry Process:

Invitations – The Best Whip panel will reach out and invite selected athletes to compete in the Red Bull Best Whip.

Wild Card Submissions – Riders interested in competing in the Red Bull Best Whip will have the opportunity to submit a rider edit to the review board for invitational consideration. Process for rider submissions are as follows:

Edit Format – Video must not exceed 15 seconds in length.

Content – Showcase a clear demonstration of rider ability, bike control, and whip capabilities.

Entry Window – Submissions must be in by Sunday, July 28th at 11:59pm.

Communication – Entries will be reviewed in real-time and rider confirmations will be communicated directly. If you do not receive a direct communication, then you were not part of the final invitation process.
