About Your instructors

Meet Chris Grice

Professional Downhill Racer

Generation Specialized

My name is Christopher Grice, and I am stoked to be a coach at the Rock Creek Race Academy! I’m 21 years old and grew up in Asheville, moving to Brevard in 2018. I absolutely love living here—this area offers the best mountain bike community and trails you could ask for.

I’ve been riding bikes since I was 4 years old, starting out with BMX racing. When I was 12, I made the switch to downhill and never looked back. I’m passionate about sharing what I’ve learned over the years, helping other riders progress, and nothing gets me more excited than seeing that progression in other riders.

I’ve been racing as a professional for Specialized Bikes since 2020, and during that time, I’ve gained invaluable knowledge, from refining my basic riding skills to improving my racecraft. I’m stoked to pass on what I know and help you reach the next level in your riding.

A Few Career Highlights:

  • 27th Place Finish at the Elite World Cup
  • 33rd Place Finish at the Elite World Championships
  • 2x Junior National Champion

Originally, I raced BMX on the national circuit before making the switch to primarily mountain bike racing at the age of 16. Mountain biking has given me the opportunity to travel to some amazing places and meet some lifelong friends.

I’m excited to share my cycling knowledge both on and off the bike with you!

Since moving to Brevard, I have been lucky enough to take my riding career to the next level. I have competitively raced enduro on the national and international level for the past 5 years.
